S.K.B.R.College, the first College in the entire Konaseema and third college in East Godavari District came into existence in 1951 with the munificent donation of  Rs. One Lakh Rupees by the Chief Donor Late Sri Jillella Venkata Bhanoji Ramars Garu and the efforts made by the freedom fighter Sri N.Rama Bhadra Raju Garu. The College attained the reputation of being one of the best colleges in the state in all the facets like Instruction, Results, Discipline, Cultural Activities, Games and Sports etc. 

In accordance with the changing needs of the society and with a view to train builders of the Nation S.K.B.R College Management entered into the sphere of Teacher Education in the early years of the 21^st Century.

After getting the sanctions from all the regulatory bodies like National Council for Teacher Education, Andhra University etc., the S.K.B.R.College of Education was inaugurated on 8^th May 2003 by the honourable Founder President of the S.K.B.R College Governing Body Sri.N.Rama Bhadra Raju Garu.

The College of Education has been imparting Quality Teacher Education since its inception. Nearly 1300 Students were graduated in Teacher Education from this College in the course of these 12 years. Among them several B.Ed graduates were inducted into the Government service as Secondary grade and High School Teachers. The rest of the B.Ed students have been settled as teachers in private institutions. A little portion of them have got placement in other private and government Services.

The college of Education strictly adhered to the norms of the regulatory bodies like NCTE, APSCHE and Affiliating Universities. From the 2015-16 Academic Year the B.Ed Course has been converted as a two year programme. Besides this the affiliation of the College has been shifted from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam to Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry.
